New painting in progress.
After my spring exhibition, I am working on a new painting. I found an old picture of siblings, possibly even twins, online. It took me a long time to find it, because it's challenging to find a photo inspiring enough to use as a starting point for a painting.
For the background, I painted plants from our garden. It's still a work in progress, because these weeks I'm teaching at a summer course for children during the day and I don't often have the energy to pick up a paintbrush after a day's work. It will be different next week, when there is no more class.
An unfinished painting was on display on a rack in the living room a week ago when my daughter had a high school graduation party. A young relative named the painting The Shining in the Garden. The connotation is undoubtedly clear to those who have seen a Kubrick film.
